This Girl Can Talk

2.2 Girl power and power cuts

Harriet Flitton Season 2 Episode 2

Episode. 2

The first of many interviews in Season 2.

Rachel lives in Sierra Leone we talk about cultural differences  living in another country and the comparison of dating back in the UK.

A couple of facts on Sierra Leone:

  • Sierra Leone gained its independence from Great Britain on April 27th,1961.
  • The name of the country comes from the words "Serra Leao," meaning "Lion Mountain Range" in Portuguese.
  • Sierra Leone is one of the world's youngest democracies since 2007.

Rachel and myself grew up in the same home town and went to the same middle school. We share a similar view point on female empowerment, we also tackle the subject matter of women knowing their worth and setting boundaries when it comes to dating. We  debate society pressures and a couple of urban dictionary dating terms and generally put the world to rights.

I really enjoyed how the conversation went from topic to topic, we even discuss cult TV show Sex and the City.
